membership responsibilities

Membership of the NBYO requires both a high standard of musicianship and adhering to the duties of an orchestra member.

  • attend all rehearsals.
  • give at least 24 hours prior notice, via email, of an unavoidable absence from a rehearsal. Less than a 90% attendance rate may lead to the loss of your place in the orchestra.
  • assist with concert preparations, eg helping load percussion onto the truck to transport to concerts, sell tea and coffee at interval, collect raffle prizes, distribute flyers and posters, sell tickets, sort sheet music. Family members of the player are also requested to help with these tasks.
  • attend the Annual General Meeting each year as well as make nominations and vote for the Board of Directors.

rehearsals

The NBO rehearses on Wednesday nights during school semesters. Our rehearsal venue is located at Montgomery Hall, Endeavour Drive, RSL Anzac Village, Narrabeen.
